One of my favourite places in Scotland to visit and even more so at night is Glen Coe. I have scoured these hills by day and by night looking for new and interesting locations and compositions to photograph but by night it just becomes so peaceful and otherworldly after all of the tourists and all of the light has left for the day. you have enormous ink black looming mountains on all sides with a dark sky completely filled with starlight. it needs a really long exposure to bring out any real detail of the landscape here at night. This leaves the shutter of the camera open long enough to capture the light trails from the night freight lorries passing up through the Glen Coe Pass as they make their way up into the Scottish Highlands.
